Development the flexible magnetic abrasive finishing process by transmitting the magnetic fields

This research aims to present a novel approach in magnetic abrasive finishing improve its potential for creating different patterns the free-form surface using no special fixtures or tool machines minimize complexity of process. The key point this idea is that particles can move by transfer fields (similar train moving on rail) and create desired polishing simultaneously. coils are placed under thin plate; then, flexible path created arrangement coils; after that, turned off turn, surface. continuous movement field will abrade sheets’ tests were performed copper sheets with thickness 1 mm. Experimental parameters include electric current (0.25, 0.5, 0.75 A), speed turning (speed particle movement) (20, 30, 40 mm/s), process time (1, 2, 3 h). experiments L-shaped sheets. results show transmission MAF (TMAF) makes it easy roughness directions While one part L-shape 0.25 A, around 0.90 µm, other part, where 0.49 µm. Meanwhile, TMAF possible finish fixtures. Moreover, there direct relationship between change time.
